Black Star Foundation works with both Dutch and foreign artists and bands, with the main focus on reggae, dancehall and African music. These artists/bands play at festivals and events organized by Black Star Foundation, but we also do bookings, promotion and management of (still) unknown talent.

Black Star Sound (The Netherlands)
Black Star Sound is a roots reggae sound, based in Amsterdam (Holland). Selector Den-Den loves vinyl and has a huge 7”-single collection. Black Star Sound also has a nice dubplate selection box! On stage Den-Den is often assisted by MC's and talented singers. Besides Jamaican riddims Black Star Sound also plays their own productions.

Asher-E (The Netherlands)

Eelco Kastermans (Asher-E) is an allround reggae musician, sound engineer and producer. For many years he is the producer and soundengineer for Black Star Foundation.

Leah Rosier (The Netherlands)
Leah is a young female reggae artist from Amsterdam (Holland)! She started to write, compose and record her own songs in 2010 and she is already perfoming on different stages, in both Holland and abroad.

Brainpower (The Netherlands)
Brainpower is the only Dutch Hip Hop artist who has sold over 200.000 records, CD’s and DVD’s. A true artist who has been at the top of Dutch Hip Hop for more than a decade. And he also does reggae!

Exile Di Brave (Jamaica)
Exile Di Brave is a young Jamaican reggae artist, born in Portmore (near Kingston). In 1999 he started to rap as the hip hop genre took a big step in Jamaican culture. Nowadays he is touring Europe, in 2015 he performed at Reggae Geel (Belgium) and Rototom Sunsplash (Spain).

Vivian Jones (Jamaica/UK)
Vivian Jones is a sophisticated singer with a warm and soulful voice. The very talented Jamaican singer lives in London and he has been charting big in the English charts for more than two decades now.

Joggo (Surinam/Holland)
Joggo introduced himself to the reggae audience in 2008 after the release off the mixtape Beware. The song Beware (Kingdom riddim) had a huge international impact and peaked at the #2 position in the official German reggae charts for weeks.

Rebel Jam (The Netherlands)
The founder of Rebel Jam is Robby Pinas, bass player in Jampara's Batalion band. This band consists of 8 members and is bringing pure roots rock reggae music.

Rapha Pico (The Netherlands)
Some people are born with music in their genes, a heritage which will guide their future life no matter what. Raphael is like that, a young singer with lots of talent.

Mr. Aya (France)
Mr. Aya is a sing jay from the North of France. In 2011 Mr. Aya released his first album and in 2013 be won the Benelux Reggae Contest for MCs and singers!

Black Prophet (Ghana)
Black Prophet is a very talented singer from Ghana. His reggae background combined with African elements gives a very unique sound. He came to Europe for the first time in 2003 on invitation by Black Star Foundation. He stayed in Europe for many years, working with his own band Thunder Strike. Now he is back with a brand new album!

Rass Motivated (Surinam/Holland)
Rass (Revolutionary African Street Specialist) Motivated is the musical alter ego of Sherandell Maynard from Rotterdam (Holland). With his 'Reggae for All People' state of mind, his typical sound and energetic performance, this young musician is a promising talent.

Verse iTal (The Netherlands)
Winner of the Benelux Reggae Contest 2014! Verse iTal a.k.a. Stefan Wilson, has been part of the Trinidadian reggae scene for years. In 2012 Verse iTal took his album and talents to the UK and Europe. Now he lives in The Hague (Holland).

Firehouse Crew (Jamaica)
The Firehouse Crew is one of Jamaica’s top reggae bands. The crew fuses its sound from both crispy computer beats and organic old school reggae grooves.

Tjerk & Liquid Sunshine (The Netherlands)
Tjerk & Liquid Sunshine play live music with a sunny reggae vibe and some jazzy, ska or folk-like singer-songwriter influences. In 2012, Tjerk participated in the X-Factor. Tjerk and his relatively new band Liquid Sunshine already played at Zwarte Cross Festival 2015.

Jampara & The Batalion (Burundi/Holland)
Jampara plays in a typical African Roots Reggae style, he calls it 'Fire in the Wire'! The combination of reggae and Burundi-drums is unique.
