Reggae Night in Hoogeveen

Theatre De Tamboer organises a this Reggae Night in cooperation with Black Star Foundation! An evening full of reggae music with first of all, a lecture about Bob Marley and reggae music. There are performances by different reggae artists and bands.

Introduction:
The evening starts with a musical lecture. Dr. Tim Boekhout van Solinge will tell about the life of Bob Marley and reggae music. His lecture will be musically supported by DJ Den-Den (Black Star Sound).

Before and afther the concerts, there will be reggae music by Black Star Sound feat. Den-Den, MC T and different singers, like Brother Marcus and some singers from the Tribute to Bob Marley band.

You can bring your musical instruments for Instrument4Africa. The band collects old instruments and brings them to Africa.

Tribute2BobMarley band is actually called The Rootsriders band. This project with Bob Marley lookalike Philip Junior Tecla is a great success. They are remembering and honouring the King of Reggae by playing his musical heritage.
 

 
Ziggi Recado (The Netherlands)
For many years Ziggi Recado is doing great work in the Netherlands. In 2006 he released his debut album So Much Reasons and in 2007 he toured Europe as the official support act for Gentleman. Ziggi is still one of the top reggae acts from Holland.

Black Star Sound (The Netherlands)
Black Star Sound is a roots reggae sound, based in Amsterdam (Holland). Selector Den-Den loves vinyl and has a huge 7-single collection. Black Star Sound also has a nice dubplate selection box! On stage Den-Den is often assisted by MC's and talented singers. Besides Jamaican riddims Black Star Sound also plays their own productions.
 

 
Bredda Marcus (The Netherlands)
Winner of the Dutch Reggae Award 2006. Bredda Marcus was not only the singer, but also the spirit behind the Dutch reggae band The Irie Connection, who has been playing together for more than 20 years. Since 2006 Marcus is also a regular singer for Black Star Sound.
