Black Star Foundation exists 15 year and that counts for a celebration! Besides Black Star Sound, many artists will perform with whom we have worked together during these last years.

There will be live performances and DJ's, a photo exhibition, Jamaican food, reggae decorations (in cooperation with DecoRoots) and lots of Black Star merchandise and CD's!

Lone Ranger
Lone Ranger is a Jamaican reggae deejay who recorded nine albums between the late 1970s and mid-1980s. He began his recording career with Clement 'Coxsone' Dodd's Studio One label. He is regarded as one of the most lyrically inventive deejays of his era, and was a major influence on British deejays of the early 1980s.

Mr. Aya
Mr. Aya is a sing jay from the North of France. In 2011 Mr. Aya released his first album and in 2013 be won the Benelux Reggae Contest for MCs and singers!

Leah Rosier
Leah is a young female reggae artist from Amsterdam (Holland)! She started to write, compose and record her own songs in 2010 and she is already perfoming on different stages, in both Holland and abroad.

Exile Di Brave
Exile Di Brave is a young Jamaican reggae artist, born in Portmore (near Kingston). In 1999 he started to rap as the hip hop genre took a big step in Jamaican culture. Nowadays he is touring Europe, in 2015 he performed at Reggae Geel (Belgium) and Rototom Sunsplash (Spain).

'Riddim master' and Black Star producer Asher-E!
Eelco Kastermans (Asher-E) is an allround reggae musician, sound engineer and producer. For many years he is the producer for Black Star Foundation and he plays the melodica very well!

Black Star Sound
Black Star Sound is a roots reggae sound, based in Amsterdam (Holland). Selector Den-Den loves vinyl and has a huge 7-single collection. Black Star Sound also has a nice dubplate selection box! On stage Den-Den is often assisted by MC's and talented singers. Besides Jamaican riddims Black Star Sound also plays their own productions

Back-a-Wall Movement
Back-a-Wall Movement is a reggae soundsystem with a positive message. For more than 15 years Papa Hobbol and Remy Rootical are playing their records, strictly vinyl and mostly 7".

Soul Stereo (France)
Soul Stereo is a Rub-A-Dub Sound System from Paris (France). The sound system was created in November 1998 by Fatta & Reeko who were joined in 2003 by Tarzan. They keep the old tradition of live shows on sound system style.

Jahforth is a Jamaican singer/MC. He is a real 'nyabinghi roots man'. Spiritual influences can be heard when he is on the mic. Since 2014 Jahforth can be seen and heard regularly with Black Star Sound!

Michelle Boekhout van Solinge is the founder of Black Star Foundation. She is mostly working on management and bookings for artists/bands, (online) promotion, organisation of events and development of new talent. Michelle is also giving musical lectures and is MC for Black Star Sound!

Rapha Pico
Some people are born with music in their genes, a heritage which will guide their future life no matter what. Raphael is like that, a young singer with lots of talent.
